Video Sermon- New Year 2025
Expository Preaching on 1 Timothy 3:14-16 . Expository preaching means teaching verse by verse through the book…not by topic-where they just choose verses to go with that topic. Expository preaching is the best way to understand scripture in context as a whole the way it was written.
This is our Pastor… he preaches faithfully and unashamedly… something that is harder to find than it should be in this world.
Join me as we journey through the Bible…I have learned SO much already…but there is SO much more to learn!
My Notes
- The same power that spoke the heavens into existence speaks to us. WOW!
- We know that apart from Christ we are hell bound sinners. Help us to know who we are in Christ and how we should live.
- Ephesus- it was the 2nd largest city in the Roman Empire. The church there was founded on Paul’s 3rd missionary trip in Acts 19.
- Ephesus was the center of technology. The temple of Diana was in the center of town. It was a place full of sin and debauchery.
- We need to know WHO we are…and stay TRUE to who we are.
- Paul says that we are “The household of God.”
- We are not a building- we’re a family!
- We’re not a part of the household by ‘right’ or ‘merit’- it is all by His grace and blessing.
- His presence is WITH us- He is not an absent Father.
- In the household of God, Christ reveals himself like he never did to the angels, and he never will to the Christ-rejectors.
- If nowhere else- a Father should be honored in his own house…and honored there more than anywhere else.
- When you really love your family, you want to be with them…to spend time with them.
- The church of Ephesus was built around a meteor that had fallen from the sky. They thought it looked like a woman, so they named it Diana/Artemus.
- This is why Paul says we are the church of the LIVING God- as opposed to the dead rock.
- We are to be people of the Truth!
- The mystery of godliness is not a thing- it’s a WHO- It is Jesus Christ!
- Focus for 2025: Love God, Love His Family, Live in His Truth
Be Blessed, Laura
